Abstract

Coastal pine forests are buffer zones between the sea and human living areas. In terms of ecosystem services, regulating services, which prevent sand and wind from the sea, are more important than resource provisioning services and cultural services, which correspond to recreation and education. However, many residents and citizens are more concerned with provisioning and cultural services. These services motivate people to understand and conserve the regulating services and supporting services of coastal pine forests.
