The aim of this thesis is to develop such a lecture as enables children to experience the importance of life, and to learn from the past teaching practices. Mr. Ohse, the principal of an elementary school, has honestly taught his students in his classes his feeling of being ill with a terminal cancer and the importance of life. What we can learn from his "lecture on life" is that to live earnestly each day is the essence of the "lecture on life" and that we can improve ourselves by continuing to learn until we die.
