Description

【Objective】The purpose of this study was to review intervention studies supporting women and their partners to prevent postpartum depression and to identify randomized controlled trial. 【Methods】PubMed and the NPO Japan Medical Abstracts Society database (Ichushi-Web) were searched in May 2023. A scoping review was used to organize the content of support and the presence or absence of effects. 【Results】Eleven studies were selected from the international literature. Interventions were delivered during pregnancy (four studies), during both pregnancy and postpartum (five studies), or postpartum only (two studies). Methods were categorized into group sessions, booklets, videos, telephone consultations, and home visits, with most studies using group sessions. Content included child characteristics and parenting practices, couples communication, and postpartum anxiety and stress. 【Conclusion】The results suggested that interventions that combine multiple forms and postpartum interventions may be effective. Further research is needed on assessment methods and effective support, not only for women but also for their partners.
