Description

COSINA Corporation was founded in February 1959 as a lens processing plant in Nakano City, Nagano Prefecture. In 1963, COSINA established a second factory to realize integrated production from machining to assembly, and in 1968, a glass melting factory was established. In 1973, COSINA, which had been used as a brand name for its products, became the company name. This year marks the 65th anniversary of COSINA's founding. In addition to consumer products, COSINA now manufactures OEM products and optical components for the aerospace industry, but this article focuses on consumer products. Consumer products have been changing every 20 years, and the product line has also been changing in accordance with the changes in the camera market. This article is divided into three major parts, and looks back on COSINA's history while introducing epoch-making products manufactured by COSINA.
