Changes on Perception of the Residents on How to Attract Tourists at Ogami Island, Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture between the Years of 2014 and 2018

Description

In recent years number of visitors has increased in Okinawa Prefecture. Similar example can also be observed in some marginal island such as Ogami Island Miyakojima City Okinawa Prefecture. The author has carried out research on perception how to attract the Ogami Island in the years of 2012 and 2014. Both years showed no specific attitudinal changes. The third investigation was curried on September 2018 and found that some opinion to reduce a certain number of tourists. They thought certain types of tourists did not attract the islanders. However, a new type of sightseeing activities developed. Snorkeling visitors have appeared to increase and they activate sightseeing industry demanding some daily goods as well as making eateries busy. On the other hand, the opening of the dining room was not only become convenience for a tourist, but also the role of the place of recreation and relaxation for residents.
