Abstract

The two-dimensional array structure of Ag nanocubes (AgNCs) was fabricated by accumulating cubical shaped AgNCs on the Au(111) substrate. We performed Raman spectroscopy and revealed that the polymer adsorbed on the AgNCs was transformed to nanocarbon by the photoreaction when irradiating the 532 nm laser. The electronic state measurement using scanning tunneling spectroscopy elucidated that this photoreaction was induced by the direct electronic transition between the frontier orbitals of polymer via the two-photon absorption process.
