Abstract

The purpose of this study is to implement programming education that promotes understanding of social roll of information technology in elementary school social studies industry learning, and to examine its effects. In the learning contents of <Relationship between Japanese industry and information> in the social studies in the 5th grade of elementary school, a modeled Sushi ordering system was simulated using programming. As a result, the understanding of the mechanism of information technology and the awareness of information technology such as confidence in finding problems that can be solved by using information technology and the attitude to use computers to improve society have improved.
