Description

The Japan Medical Association Center for Clinical Trials (JMACCT) is a member of the Japan Medical Association (JMA), which was established in 2003 with the aim of “improving the clinical trial implementation system” and “promoting the standardization and efficiency of clinical trial operations” in Japan. Its main activities are “providing support for investigator-initiated clinical trials,” “improving work efficiency through IT systems,” and “providing educational opportunities to related parties,” toward the expansion and enlightenment of clinical trials and clinical research.

While the number of educational activities such as clinical trials at medical institutions has increased since 2010, it has been difficult for these institutions to obtain a good grasp of the results of these activities, and to measure the degree of understanding and the effect of dissemination. Accordingly, since November 2016, JMACCT has been engaged in collaboration regarding, and taking the lead in conducting clinical trial awareness activities in cooperation with medical institutions. In this article, we report on the methods and results of JMACCT’s clinical trial awareness activities (November 2016 - November 2019), and awareness activities related to Real World Data (utilization of receipts), which has attracted attention in recent years.
