Abstract

A tokamak device is a vast treasure-house of transient electromagnetic phenomena. Those are, a plasma break-down, a current ramp-up, a plasma vertical position instability, a plasma disruption, a disruption inducing electromagnetic force, an AC loss and so on. With consideration of the above mentioned phenomena, it is discussed how to decide the tokamak key parameters such as the plasma elongation, the torus one-turn resistance, the blanket structure and so on. Especially the disruption inducing electromagnetic force is discussed from viewpoint of how to mitigate its impacts.
