Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>High pressure reduction of benzophenone was examined with various Urushibara catalysts under various conditions. The purity of benzophenone, the concentration and pH of a solution, reaction temperature and quantity of the catalyst exerted considerable effects on the rate of reduction. Effective Urushibara catalysts were prepared from the precipitated metals which were obtained from the metal chlorides and zinc dust at a low temperature.</jats:p>
