Abstract

We propose an affirmative relation model to describe relation of people in on-line community. The relation of on-line community is usually described in terms of the number of speakers and comments employing a quantitative method of social network analysis. However, such a numerical evaluation is not sufficient to observe the relations among speakers. Therefore, we have to observe the contents of speakers as well as relations among them. The model can locate a speaker of on-line community m a coordinate that consists of the reachablity in a vertical axis and of a level of affirmative relation m a horizontal axis. According to the analysis, it turns out that active speakers do not play a role of centrality in threads, although they are observed to play a role of centrality in the on-line community.
