<p>This study was aimed to clarify the influence of ball size modification on game performance by comparing notational analysis of competitions using J.H.A. size 2 and 1(No.1) balls. The sample was comprised 8 matches from final, semi-final and quarter final in 2017 and 2018 National Junior High School Student Handball Club Team Cup. Results revealed the following: (1) With No.1 ball the attack efficiency increased, particularly in an organized attack. The reason was increasing the rate of shot efficiency, particularly in pivot and long range area. It was suggested that enable to grip a smaller ball improved their shooting skill. (2) With No.1 ball number of attacks decreased. The reason was decreasing the occurrence rate of first wave in fast breaks caused by increasing the attack efficiency in an organized attack. As the result, the game tempo became slower. (3) The occurrence rate of the breakthrough shots with No.1 ball increased and wing shot decreased. The reasons were presumed that increasing the shot play which the attacker holding the ball break through even with contacting by defender caused decreasing the opportunity of passing the ball to wing player.</p>
