Abstract

We retrospectively analyzed clinical features and the outcome of pediatric renal tumor patients. Nineteen consecutive diagnosed renal tumor patients were assigned to receive multi model therapy. Eighteen of the 19 patients (95%) are alive with a median follow-up rate of 61 months (range: 2-124 months). Although the tumor relapsed in one patient with favorable histology of nephroblastoma, he is still alive because of re-induction combination therapy. One patient with malignant rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (MRTK) died from the progression of the disease. We have to research newer strategies for unfavorable pediatric renal tumors such as MRTK in order to improve their prognosis.
