説明
The purpose of the present study was the criteria that determine the level of Alarm and Danger criteria from the foot temperature (Tf) of workers wearing personal protective clothing in hot environments. Two series of experiments were analyzed: Series 1 (subjects undertook rest and exercise under a total of twelve conditions, clothing ensembles of Control, Tyvek and Vinyl coveralls, and air temperatures of 25-C and 32-C); and Series 2 (a total of eight firefighter kit conditions with/without various self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA: type A, B and C) and Ta 22-C and 32-C). The results showed that 1) Tfm of 38.0-C and 38.5-C were determined as the Alarm and Danger criteria, respectively, for workers wearing full protective clothing from Series 1 and 2; 2) the Alarm criterion was derived from the point that Tfoot reached rectal temperature during exercise; 3) the Danger criterion was determined from the relationships of Tf,,Ot with physiological strain index, heart rate, thermal comfort, and thermal sensation. 4) at Ta 22-C and 25-C, Tfo,,t did not reach the Alarm level. 5) Tfoot of 38.0-C and 38.5-C were valid as the Alarm and Danger criteria, respectively, when applied to workers wearing full protective clothing in hot environments.
