説明

In the present bearing diagnostic technology, the method of diagnosing vibration generated from bearing is common. However, in order to measure vibration, it is necessary to fix a vibration sensor to a measurement object. In this case, there may be no suitable place in attaching a sensor or approaching is dangerous in many cases. Moreover, we may misdiagnose when vibration generated from another source mixes. In such a case, diagnosis by sound is one of the effective solutions. When we perform a bearing diagnosis by vibration, we pay attention to the frequency range 10kHz - 50kHz in many cases. The same algorithm can be used if the same frequency range can be used also in diagnosis by sound. Moreover, since most of a 10kHz - 50kHz frequency range is ultrasonic area, it has the advantage seldom influenced of back ground noise. Furthermore, since it is also easy to make a directional microphone in that frequency range, the sound emitted from bearing can be caught efficiently. The fundamental experiment and examination required to develop a bearing diagnosis instrument by sound were performed. The sound of 10kHz - 50kHz emitted from a defected bearing was measured. Moreover, the prototype bearing diagnosis instrument which carried the algorithm using the amplitude probability density function of the waveform of sound has been developed.
