Description
Computer-Aided System for Fire Fighting and Rescue Efforts (CAS-FiRE) is being developed by University of Tsukuba as one of the projects of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology). This paper relates two topics regarding this system. A comparative study we have carried out is shown at the beginning, which has made use of two independent fire spread simulations. One is a subsystem of CAS-FiRE, which is a statistical-model-based simulation, and the other is a physical-model-based simulation. In the result, we can take in several new interesting issues. Secondly, we present a typical case of fire fighting simulation that is also a subsystem of CAS-FiRE. The result shows that this simulation has objective validities and can be used for practical applications.
