Description
This paper described the results of performance test of the gyromill type wind turbine. NACA6521 airfoil was selected as the reference airfoil and was modified in order to improve the aerodynamic performance, that is, the trailing edge part of pressure surface of airfoil was cut. Cutting trailing part of pressure surface airfoil reduced the pitching moment so that the produced torque increased. The results showed the modified NACA6521 airfoil was superior in the starting performance to the normal NACA6521 airfoil.
