抄録

For wind-resistant design of cable-stayed bridges, the reduction of static wind forces on long stay-cables and also stabilization of wind-induced cable vibrations are required. In this paper, modifying the cable surface configuration, the reduction of drag force and aerodynamic stabilization, especially for rain-wind induced vibration, of stay cables are considered. Then, by the various experiments, it becomes clear that there are two kinds of method to reduce the drag force, one is increasing the surface roughness and the other is enhancing three dimensional flow separation.
