説明
The finite element techinique is applied to simulating the voice generation, process. The present paper investigates the oscillation mechanism of vocal cords. The system is considered as a coupled fluid-elastic structure model of two dimension. The vocal cords are a pair of elastic bodies of cantilever faced each other and fluid escapes from a gap between them. The fluid is considered to be ideal or incompressible for the sake of the analytical simplicity. The steady fluid flow causes the vocal oscillation, for which the Bernoulli's force when the fluid goes through the gap and the internal pressure when the gap is closed are responsible. The system is simulated as a finite element model and its sequential response is followed by the Runge-Kutta approach. It is found that the vocal cords oscillation occurs under the certain ranges of the fluid velosity and the internal pressure for the geometry and the physical properties of the assumed vocal cords.
