In this series of three papers, we proposed a pictogram system for natural disaster reduction as a result of team effort between designers and disaster experts. It is our goal to release this picture language system, as a communication tool for promoting the world awareness and understanding of natural disaster reduction, as a concrete achievements of IDNDR. In part 1, we defined our tasks: (1) establishing lexicon and grammar of pictogram, and (2) establishing a frame work to present such pictograms. In part 2, our two tasks will be elaborated from design work perspective. In part 3, we introduce an application of pictogram system for tsunami-disaster reduction.
