Description

In order to improve the accuracy of coordinate transformation between Munsell-system and XYZ-system, the 3rd-Order interpolation has been investigated. An algorithm for coordinate transformation using Newton polynomial as a interpolating function has been proposed, and results computed by a BASIC program based on this algorithm were shown as smooth and natural curves. Differences between the 1st-Order interpolation and the 3rd-order one were not uniform, and were presented to be influenced by locations of color samples on the chromaticity diagram.
