Description
Seven known coumarins, decursin, nodakenetin, umbelliferone, 7-demethylsuberosin, columbianetin, decursinol angelate and decursinol, showing significant cytotoxic activities on P388 cell lines, were isolated from the roots of Angelica gigas (Umbelliferae). 7-Demethylsuberosin and columbianetin were obtained from the plant for the first time. Coumarin components between the roots of A. gigas and those of A. acutiloba were compared and discussed from a chemotaxonomical viewpoint.
