説明

To reduce damages caused by flooding, the forecast of the water level of the river is effective information, which helps people prepare for flooding in advance. Recently, enough quantity of digital water level data as well as rainfall data are released for public. We used those data and developed a statistical water level prediction equation, which probabilistically relates the water level of the river with the accumulated rainfall in the upper reaches area of the river. Using this equation, the probability of flooding given a rainfall scenario as well as for the real raining is evaluated.
