Description
1) Twenty-one strains of film yeasts isolated from several kinds of sources (mostly "Miso", i.e., Japanese soya bean paste) were studied from mycological points.2) These strains have been identified as follows : Pichia farinosa (LINDNER) HANSEN. Pichia farinosa var. japonica (NAGANISHI) OHARA et NONOMURA.3) Pitchia farinosa var. japonica differs from the type species in the higher maximum temperatures for the growth and the sporulation, i.e., 44~45℃ and 39~41℃ respectively.
