Description

A voluntary human network "KOBEnet" was established January 30, 1995, two weeks after the occurrence of the Hyogoken-Nanbu Earthquake, at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. The objectives of KOBEnet are 1) information transfer among researchers in Japan related the earthquake disaster; 2) promotion and support of technical voluntary activities related to the disaster, and 3) international cooperation among researchers. Shifting its major task to archives and dissemination of disaster information, KOBEnet is still in active now. Recently, a comprehensive report summarizing the activities of KOBEnet was published. This paper introduces the summary of this report and the statistics of the archives and visitors are presented.
