The drosophilid fauna of Xinjiang, Chinese Central Asia, is reported with some discussion on the faunal relationships with other Palearctic regions. A new species of the Drosophila (Drosophila) quadrisetata species-group is described. Taxonomic positions of two species, Drosophila avicennai and D. kashmirensis, are discussed.
