This paper aims to construct an analysis method to quantify the distress rate and endurance time span of the ordinary household during power failure. In order to accumulate the amount of distress and time span of endurance which occurs from the limitation to the usage of electric appliances, 26 mainly used appliances were picked up to represent the aspect of daily life dependent on electricity. A questionnaire was done targeting the inhabitants of Tsukuba City, in the Ibaraki Prefecture as a test case of this analysis method. The results of the analysis showed that differences were observed in the electric appliances which most affected the inhabitants' daily life, according to the composing members of each household.
