Description

Glenuroides okinawensis OKAMOTO, which has been known only from the Islands Okinawa and Ishigaki, the Ryukyus, is confirmed to occur also in the environs of the Inland Sea of Seto. In this paper, morphology of the larvae, as well as life-history and behavior, of this species is described and compared with a related species, G. japonicus MACLACHLAN. The larvae of the present species construct no pitfall. Morphological and ecological characters of the larvae were described in comparison with those of Distoleon contubernalis MACLACHLAN which is related to the present species. Moreover, some notes on two hymenopterous species (Myrmeleonstenus sp. and Lasiochalcida nigra YASUMATSU) parasitic to the present species were given.
