抄録

This paper describes the validation of the accuracy of the Gibson Method. Pressure head-time lines and recovery lines are calculated by the computer simulations using the characteristics method iteratively. Valve stroking method has been applied to a horizontal pipeline to obtain some pressure head-time lines. These pressure head-time lines have been used in the Gibson Method. It appears that the idea which uses the valve stroking method for obtaining the pressure head-time lines in the Gibson Method has improved the accuracy of the Gibson Method.
