Description
The National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation is engaged in awarding academic degrees based on the accumulation of academic course credits. As a part of degree awarding process, these course credit must be classified for designated disciplinary fields according to pre-determined criteria. The course classification process is carried out based on careful reading of course syllabuses by subcommittee members of the institution who are well versed in the disciplinary field. So far we have developed Active Course Classification Support system (ACCS) that was aimed to support the subcommittee members in course classification process. Recently, we have introduced a learning mechanism of Exploitation-oriented Learning (XoL) into ACCS. In this paper, we improve the classification ability of ACCS combined with XoL by generating appropriate sets of positive and negative examples. We show a numerical example to clarify the effectiveness of improvement.
