The gradual shift in the gravity of economic growth and trade from Japan to China led to the emergence of new transshipment and gateway hub port, which include Shanghai and Shenzhen. In order to substantiate the magnitude of infra- and superstructural investments required, we think the need for both shipping lines and terminal operators to work together. Enhancement in goods movement can be seen in the various ways modem integrated logistics chains are organized. Transportation technologies has motivated the continuous evolution of the supply chain. In recent years many companies have improved performance, reducing cost, increasing service levels, improving responsiveness to change in the marketplace, by integrating the supply chain. The realization of Japan's and China's economic potential will also rely to a great extent on continued efforts to uperade and invest in new port and multimodal infrastructure to ensure that the growth momentum is maintained. Some ports in developed economies have established community automation systems, sometimes including Customs processing. A key element of security and efficiency in international trade is transparency and visibility across the entire supply chain, which increases the capability to track and containers at any given time. E-services will become more and more important and the complexity of global trade will require international standards. In the light of changing trading patterns and the increasing emphasis on efficient information flows to support them, there is a need to recurrently review and analyze the trade procedures to assess their cost-effectiveness.
