Description
Recently progress in portable small-sized equipments has increased the demand for high energy density batteries as power sources. LiMO_2 and LiMM'O_4 type materials have been reported to show high voltage. This report shows fundamental cathode properties of Li_2PtO_3, which belongs to a new crystallographical type Li_2MO_3. Li_2PtO_3 has 4 volts regions and rechargeable capacity of about 100mAh/g.
