The lock warp is an important problem for maintenance of point machines. The thermal expansion of the switch-and-lock system due to the temperature rise is a cause of lock warp. There is a relationship between the temperature rise and the weather condition. In this paper, we examine a method of preventing lock warp of the point machine due to the weather condition. In this method, we constructed a model of predicting the temperature of the switch-and-lock system based on the weather condition by multiple regression analysis. We can estimate the temperature of the switch-and-lock system by using this model.
