Description

BioModel represents an information system by simulating the structure and functions of a creature. In the model, a system is defined as a set of cells in which some functions are embended. Among these functions, there include capabilities of information sensor, information storage, information translator and comunications. When a cell is stimulated by outside existences or other cells, the functions embedded in the cell are activated. A prototype system is an implementation of BioModel, in which the application system is realized as a book. Each chapter of the book consists of some pages with same structure looks like a spreadsheet, that is, a 2-dimensional rectangular mesh. Each function is implemented as a functional sheet that enables cells to have the functionality. Embedding a function into a cell is corresponding to patching a sheet on a cell. In such a framework, we can expand the capability of multimedia data manupulation and distributed data processing.
