Description

Hydroids of Eutima japonica Uchida, associating with a blue mussel Mytilus galloprovinciahs, were recently found on the coast of the Sea of Japan in Ishikawa and Niigata Prefectures, middle Honshu in 2003-2007 after the first occurrence in the southern Honshu in 2002 (Kobayashi et al., 2004). This followed an absence of records of this hydroid in Honshu and its offshore islands during the years of 1977-1998.
