Description
As advanced electronic in-vehicle network has recently become prevalent as can be seen in such as safety driving support system and autonomous driving system, carjacking which attacks the vulnerability of vehicle network has been reported in research papers. Thus, we consider a countermeasure to avoid tapping, analysis, eavesdropping, and replay attacks for CAN network which is used in-vehicle network protocol as de fact standard. The countermeasure utilizes AES cryptographic circuit and counters built on FPGA. In this paper we prove the evaluation results of an implementation of our proposal technique, and also discuss applying of the technique to the in-vehicle network of the future.
