Description
The attenuation of ground motions generated by traffic disturbances is investigated by means of Fourier amplitudes about the all range of frequency. The following properties became clear after examining the experimental results. The wave generated by a car shows the mixed property of body wave and surface wave. The vibration of high frequency range decays rapidly. The damping constant of soil vibration is scarcely affected by the velocity of a car, but considerably affected by the weight of a car. The soil vibration of each component decreases at the inverse of the distance from a vibration source.
