Finite element analyses and full scale dynamic tests were conducted on sleet-jump phenomenon of three-phase single-circuit transmission lines which are newly developed for compact towers and have polymer line-to-line spacers. Numerical simulation was performed by taking account of geometrical nonlinearities of the lines. In the tests, the sleet-jump was initiated by free drop of weights which were hung from the lines. Computed results are in a good agreement with the test results, and validity of the numerical method is confirmed.
