Abstract

There are approximately 160 musical performances per annum and ca 70 of them are recorded as official archives of the Tokyo University of the Arts. The GEIDAI Archive Center has been established in May 2011 and one of the research projects called the audio and video data project has studied for archiving these performances including several technical issues such as the design of networks, the format of digital data, and the treatment of intellectual property such as the copyrights and the neighboring rights. Furthermore, we have studied what is required for the process from recording to internet delivery. In this paper the author will report these activities and giving the examples of the internet delivery of the audio archives expired the neighboring rights.
