Description
A quantum-mechanically consistent formulation of the theory of electron impact broadening in plasmas is given by using the scattering matrices obtained from closed coupling procedure instead of the classical path approximation, where parameter of the impact radius, can be removed. Concrete calculations of neutral and ionized radiators are carried out for hydrogenic systems.
