Description

We have introduced a campus-wide ATM network in Kyoto University in 1996. This network is a very large scale ATM-based LAN which consists of 260 ATM switches. This should be an infrastructure for all of the members of Kyoto University. In this paper, we describe the design and implementaion of our ATM network. A basic result of our experiment to reveal characteristics of IP over ATM traffic is also discussed.
