Description

In fast FH-SS communication system, it is practically difficult to modulate in order to change the carrier frequency fast. Therefore, in this thesis, a new FSK modulation method with fast frequency hopping PLL synthesizer is proposed. In this method, the interval of next channel difference in the input voltage of VCO multiplied by p/m (p<m, p : odd number, m : multiple power of 2) is added to the input voltage. Because of this way, VCO output frequency is changed. Dividing number of synthesizer is integral number, so it is different that changed VCO output frequency and reference frequency. Therefore, this change of voltage is measured in terms of phase change that reference frequency and VCO output frequency, and it is used to reverse the phase difference, the dividing number apparently appear to be a fraction dividing number. In this paper, the modulation method for a binary data is explained considering two cases. The results of computer simulations are shown which confirm the theoretical predictions.
