Description
In this research, we present a new approach for designing linear phase (LP) perfect reconstruction (PR) FIR filter banks. As in previous works a nonlinear optimization with constraints is required to design such system, because they try to design only analysis system under the condition that the determinant is pure delay. The new approach presented in this paper, PR condition is incorporated into the objective function as the square errors for aliasing cancellation and elimination of amplitude distortion. So we can design the LP PR system with arbitrary filter length by solving linear equations iteratively. Some design examples are included to show the effectiveness of this method.
