Description
We propose the combination of an intelligent antenna and radio-on-fiber technique for millimeter-wave multimedia mobile access communication system (MMAC), which allows mobile users to connect with B-ISDN. This technology can miniaturize the size of base stations without degrading its performance. Moreover, it can simplify the control for the hand-over and diversity, since the signal processing for antenna beamforming is centralized. Techniques and scenario for realizing MMAC are also reviewed.
