Description
In the BT feeding circuit of double track, residual voltage is sometimes generated in one track when the circuit breaker of the other side is opened. This phenomenon occurs only when one track loses power, and it disappears when the other track with power loses. This phenomenon was found to be Ferroresonance Phenomena. In the normal BT feeding circuit of double track, feeding voltage is about 22 kVrms (60 Hz), and voltage of about 3 kVrms (60 Hz) in track without power is induced by the other track with power. When Ferroresonance Phenomena occur, voltage of about 9 kVrms (20 Hz) is generated. We succeeded in suppressing it by connecting the resistor to the secondary side of ST (Signal Transformer). This paper explains the method.
