Description
Antimicrobial and nematocidal activities of acetone extracts from medicinal plants which grow at the far east region in Russia and Hokkaido in Japan were examined in connection with comparative studies on plant distributions between two regions. Acetone extracts from Epilobium angustifolium and Agropyron repens exhibited antimicrobial activities against Cladosporium herbarum and Staphylococcus aureus. Water-soluble fractions from ethyl acetate extracts of Hypericum attenuatum and Agropyron repens exhibited nematocidal activities against a nematode, Heterodora grycine. It was elucidated that E. angustifolium and A. repens distributed at both regions.
