Abstract
This paper investigated conditions for acclimatization of the growth of cultured plantlets formed from leaf explants of Kalanchoe pinnata Pers. Lighting was indispensable in the growth of cultured plantlets during acclimatization The growth of cultured plantlets during acclimatization in a culture room (2000lux 16hrs.) was more effective that on the plant growth shelves installed in a light place with sunshine through glass. Garden soil rather than super-absorbent polymer or peat moss was superior as the medium for die acclimatization and was the most effective for the growth of cultured plantlets. Sterilization of the medium was not necessary in the acclimatization of highly viable cultured plantlets like Kalanchoe pinnata Pers. The cultured plantlets grew vigorously before acclimatization showed high rates of survival of cultured plantlets after the acclimatization. Generally, acclimatization of cultured plantlets of Kalanchoe pinnata Pers. was easy and the cultured plantlets showed higher rates of survival after acclimatization, although the root formation from leaf explants was not adequate.
