説明
The volume produced H^- ion current is extracted from the outside region of a high efficiency sheet plasma of width ≈ 25cm, thickness ≈ 0.8cm and length along a weak magnetic field ≈ 30cm. The number of extraction apertures (6mm φ) is changed from 9 to 301. With a high discharge anode current of 150 A and a H_2 gas pressure of 2.0×10^<-3> Torr, the extracted H^- ion current at 4kV is about 2.0 A in a case of 301 apertures (160cm^2,transparency ≈ 50%). The H^- ion current is nearly proportional to the number of apertures, and the H^- ion current density in one aperture is about 24mA/cm^2. Thus, a H^-/D^- ion source based on the sheet plasma is proposed for a future thermonuclear fusion research.
