Description
In recent years, various types of artificial lightweight aggregates, such as new lightweight aggregate with low water absorption made from finely ground perlite powder, a binder and gas-forming agent, have been developed. And properties of each strength and frost resistance of the lightweight concrete using these aggregates had been researched and reported previously. In this study, influences of the following factors on shrinkage properties of lightweight aggregate concrete were experimentally investigated; type of aggregate, absorption of aggregate, state of moisture and curing condition of concrete. From these experiments it was found that the moisture condition of lightweight aggregate has remarkable influence on the autogenous and drying shrinkage.
