Description
An "Avant" is an introductory survey of a televised program which continues shortly and is located at a head part before the main title of the program. This paper studies the structure and role of the Avant in case of the research objects of Nagoya University Televised Public Lectures. which are broadcasted in 1991-1995 (mainly in 1995). Our research results are as follows: 1) the average duration time of Avant (1995) is 54.9 seconds, 2) the average shot number in Avant is 9.4, 3) the average duration time of shot in Avant is 6.3 seconds. 4) the average narration speed in Avant is 326.1 letters per minute in case of Hiragana-letter, 5) the Avant is generally consisting of four sections with a multilayer structure, 6) the average duration time of Avant (1991〜1995) is 74 seconds.
